All About Microneedling

by: Ksenia Igonina, Master Aesthetician

Microneedling is a safe and effective way to combat skin imperfections anywhere on the body. It remains to find a qualified master aesthetician familiar with the process, a person you can trust 100%.  Your best choice is Javan Wellness! Our experienced Licensed Master Estheticians know their craft!

Let’s talk about the procedure – Microneedling has a double effect. First, during the passage of the needle through the skin, old tissue receives targeted injuries.  To repair and heal our injured skin our body uses stem cells, which become activated and quickly move to the point of injury, embedding the destroyed tissue. Stem cells are the universal building blocks of the human body. After a few days, when the skin heals and smoothes, the patient notices a clear improvement in the dermis: spots and acne likely start to disappear, fine wrinkles become less noticeable, and blackheads decrease. The skin becomes tightened, and the color appears more radiant.

The secondary effect of Microneedling comes with the application of hyaluronic acid that I use during the process, which penetrates and rejuvenates the skin.

Microneedling is aimed at eliminating age-related changes in the skin. The procedure allows you to renew the cells of the epidermis and promotes activation,  but it can also target acne, so it is not just recommended for aged skin, but younger patients can benefit from this as well, especially if acne is not in an inflamed stage.

Microneedling is resolves several skin issues, such as:

  • Discoloration
  • Wrinkles and fine  lines
  • Pigmentation
  • Acne scaring
  • Oily skin and enlarged pores
  • Stretch marks
  • Cellulite

The peculiarities of the procedure make it possible to apply it on problem areas of the face, neck, décolleté, waist, abdomen and hips!

There are some local contraindications, which would not be recommended to treat skin with microneedling, such as

  • Large moles
  • The presence of wounds and burns
  • Inflammatory processes on the skin
  • Acne in the acute stage
  • Herpes
  • Keloids
  • Couperose
  • Skin cancer
  • Venus rings ( neck lines)

If you are a candidate for microneedling, we always recommend 1-3 treatments to see great results.  Your results will certainly improve if you take care of your overall health with an active lifestyle, proper diet, and knowing the basic rules for post procedure skin care.  Of utmost importance, don’t forget to use sunscreens and moisturizers! I always ensure a proper regimen is in place to set my patients up for success.  See you soon at Javan!
