Pregnancy Safe Products! iS Clinical at Javan

by: Michelle Mernah

If you’re pregnant or trying to become pregnant, I’m sure you’ve been doing your own research on countless topics – everything from which prenatals are best, to what foods to avoid, and what skincare is safe to use.  Yikes! It can become overwhelming doing your own research on what is safe while pregnant so I would recommend always consulting with your doctor. You’re also in luck because you can also refer to your trusty Aesthetician (me) for any recommendations on the best and safest products to use! Hormones are no joke, surging in a pregnant woman’s body and have a major impact on not only the body but also the skin.

There is an “old-wives” tale that says if your skin is clear during your pregnancy chances are likely you will have a boy- if your skin is breaking out chances are likely you are having a girl because the girl is “stealing” her mother’s beauty. I certainly experienced that to be true because my skin was freaking out during my pregnancy. When I first found out I was pregnant I was certainly overjoyed and overwhelmed all at the same time. Before becoming pregnant, my skin was acne-prone, but for the most part “clear”, thanks to using a consistent medical-grade skincare regimen to address my cystic acne. About two to three months into my pregnancy, my acne was back with a vengeance. I was so relieved to learn that the same medical-grade products from IS Clinical, which had cleared up my acne, were safe to use. That’s right, all of IS Clinical products are safe to use while pregnant and breastfeeding (Thank God!). The reason why they are safe to use is because all their products are non-systemic, meaning they do not go into your bloodstream. Even if you are not dealing with acne during your pregnancy or breastfeeding journey, it is always best to seek advice from your skincare specialist for help

All in all, becoming a mother is one of the biggest blessings I’ve ever experienced and even though my skin wasn’t perfect, I wouldn’t change it for the world…And thank goodness for expert skincare!
